Brunch Bash and Welcome Back Party

We had a wonderful “Brunch Bash and Welcome Back Party” on Sunday Sept 7^th.  It was held on the spacious grounds of the home of Katherine Hicks-Courant and Aaron Schwartz.  More than 40 people from all age groups of Temple Beth El joined the fun, as you can see from the photos.

The weather cooperated – it was absolutely perfect.  Attendees brought a large array of breakfast and lunch foods, including new member Alex Leonard making fresh hot pancakes on a portable griddle.  Most people gathered on the lower level of the multi-level deck to eat and schmooze, and then eat and schmooze some more.  The kids swam in the pool, along with some brave adults, even though the water was on the chilly side.

Congregants then moved their lawn chairs over to the Schwartz fire pit and sang along as Cantor Chesler and Aaron Schwartz played music.  A few folks paid a visit to the chicken coop, which is something we don’t see in many backyards. 

We extend our appreciation to new member Rachael Leonard for being the lead coordinator, along with Liz Campell who also transported the supplies.  A special thank you to Aaron, Katherine, Dina and Sylvie for so generously opening up their wonderful home.

It was a relaxed and most sociable gathering.  Last year our Welcome Back event was “S’mores and more” on the TBE patio.  Whatever we do next year, please plan to join us!
